The items displayed on this web site are constructed of high-quality, vegetable-tanned leather. When properly cared for, this tough and durable material can last for many years.

Over time, signs of wear may appear on edges and other surfaces exposed to friction or abrasion. Like a pair of well-worn and comfortable jeans, this is normal and adds to the character of the item.

It’s important to note that leather gradually loses the natural oils that allow it to remain strong and supple. As such, a very light coat of extra-virgin olive oil should be applied about every two years. Too much oil can ruin leather, allowing it to stretch or become spongy, so it’s best to apply oil infrequently and sparingly.

Although these leather items are treated with a water-resistant finish, they should be protected from excessive exposure to rain or moisture. Use only extra-virgin olive oil to condition the leather, as other leather conditioners and cleaners may lift surface color. And avoid leaving items in direct sunlight, as this may darken the color.

Enjoy your handmade leather product and care for it, and it will provide years of good service.
